Episode 1: Poetic Justice

On this, the first episode of our new classic books podcast THE BOOK LIGHT, we explore the life and afterlife of America’s creepiest, moodiest, most original and perhaps most misunderstood author, Edgar Allan Poe. We’ll discuss Poe’s innovations as a writer of poetry and fiction, his outlandish novel no one has read (and everyone should?), his literary throwdowns and bitter rivalries, the Baltimore schoolteacher who vindicated Poe’s name, and, yes, the fact that he married his first cousin when she was thirteen years old (!).
